With gas prices not about to go down anytime soon, it will be imperitive that we either adjust our driving habits so that we are more cost efficient with our court house trips or find a way to pass this additional expense on to the client- either with surcharges or just plain increases in title fees. Increases across the board are just part of the "norm" anymore, everything is going up anymore.

The price of gas is expected to rival that of the european countries with in the near future- which is in the $6/gal range- what will you do then about that current owner bring down in the court house that is 47 miles down the road- pass it up?

Increased on line access will certainly become more of an option to driving all over the country just to do searches- I know I have no problem walking the 10-15 steps from my morning cup of coffee to my computer to get to work. This is not something that can occurs overnight though, it takes years of planning and developing the necessary databases to be able to make it work- it has been time well invested though , especially since I don't have to fill up my car but once a month anymore. I bet the anti-on line sentiment will soon diminish when the economics of staying in business are weighed against the cost of the drive.
