Can you give more details on being "illegal to blacklist"?  Making unsubstantiated remarks or accusations would indeed by slander or libel.  Stating a fact, "I didn't get paid" would seem to be perfectly OK.  Perhaps the subject should have read, "They Didn't Pay" (a fact) rather than "They Don't Pay", an accusation and assumption.
