Well, I suppose it's all a matter of perspective.  I saw two stories written within three weeks of each other, one that said that the Pittsburgh region wasn't as hard hit by the subprime mess, and another that reported that foreclosures in the Pittsburgh region for February 2008 were the highest in 22 years.

Today's media doesn't report the news--they're more into trying to tell people what to think by citing a poll and writing a news story around it. My wife and I were at one of the local shopping malls this past weekend, and if there's a recession, you wouldn't know it from the number of people and all the shopping bags they were carrying.

Things aren't exactly coming up roses around here, either, but I, for one, refuse to sit around wringing my hands.  The work is out there if you know where to find it.
