This one occurred in Hartford , Ct a few years ago. A funeral parlor specialized in observance of the requirements of a Jewish funeral. A biodegradable casket was essential. The family did not have a lot of money and asked the funeral director to take care of the funeral as inexpensively as possible. The family was later outraged when they found out that the decedent had been buried in the metal packing crate for the casket rather than the biodegradable casket.
