All of these problems most likely could have been avoided had you filed suit in Alabama. The amount of the suit sounds like it is in small claims jurisdiction, but is still large enough to compensate you for taking a day off to travel to Alabama to appear in court.

Getting the judgment and satisfying the judgment are two different matters. If you sued an LLC for contract breach ...under the law of most states... payment of your judgment would need to be satisfied from the assets of the LLC. It may take some time , but there is hope. I just had a call from a client yesterday that had a New York judgment entered in l998. It had never been paid. Now the defendant client finds himself in a credit problem and needs a release. Legal interest has accrued over 9 years and a $2,000 judgment has now grown into a $7,000 judgment. The credit problem now requires that the Defendant pay my client....surprise...surprise as Gomer used to say.
