Thomas; What ever is going on here- don't let them strong arm him- if the sale is still pending- there is no foul. so to speak- just amend the report and that is that- if he did the title for the purchase, he still would not be on the hook- the title company might be, but not him- if it was for the original purchase back in 2006, the only judgments that would attach at the moment prior to recording would be the "then" owners- not the purchasers- the now current owners. So often the foreclosure attorneys or the foreclosure company just pushes this stuff to the lowly abstractor- and it is not something we really have to bear the burden of , in most cases, but they love to "fire" that gun right away.
