Would love the recipe for the candied sweets. I am doing the butternut squash this year instead of the sweet potatoes. Baking it with a little butter, maple syrup, brown sugar and cinnamon. Tastes very similar to the sweet potatoes.

Your cabin in the Adirondacks sounds very tranquil. I imagine it to look much like the opening scenes to the l990's remake of "The Last of the Mohegans". I spent some time in the Lake George area.

We had an amusing fishing story hear not too long ago. It seems that a couple of kids were fishing with a net not far from shore in the next town. The net became snagged on something under the surface of the water. New England has a very rocky coast line. So the kids assumed it was caught on a rock. One of the kids dove over board to untangle the net. In seconds the kid came up to the surface and out of the water like a shot. It seems they had a 7 foot thresher shark caught in the net.
