MR Default Services is actually located on Trinity Road in Raleigh NC 27607. The company is slowly but surely breaking itself down into 3 separate companies while also trying to expand into other state markets. MR Default in Raleigh where all of the NC Paralegals are located. Atlanta GA where all of the NC licensed attorneys and many paralegals are located and is named something like Morris, Sneider ..... and Stateland Tax and Title where all of the NC abstractors are located. Let me rephrase that as most of their abstractors are with a sister company in Charlotte, NC. I had heard in October that there were some abstractors complaining that they had ot been paid since Jan. 2007. I cannot varify this but I did hear this personally from an employee of theirs while I was in the Raleigh office during a company meeting. Their NC work comes out of Raleigh, so out of state abstractors may not be seeing this problem. I don't know why they are having this problem but it is there. Never burn a bridge I always say and diplomacy goes a long way. The people who cover most of the title requests are paralegals and really have no control of how you are getting paid. They can however be our best chance at having an advocate within their company. So tread lightly but wisely! There are a couple of really wonderful people within the company who will bend over backward for you! If anything don't do anymore work until you hear from someone positive about your payment issues. But that is just one opinion and you know best about what you can do. However Stateland Tax and Title may possibly be a better route for work and payment. It is technically the same company and you can probably charge them the same thing you are charging MR. I am sure they are getting a larger share anyway since they are associated.
