I can relate... I won't be able to attend this year either. We have been terribly slow this year, and the winter months are traditionally slower here in Ohio. With foreclosures up so much and real estate not selling, I expect this one to be worst than most. We have already spent most of our savings and have had to tap our equity line for some unexpected expenses. Now its time to hunker down and try to make it through 'til Spring.
I will say that NALTEA does make it as easy as they possibly can to attend. The conference fee is very low, it's over a long holiday weekend, and they have arranged for discounts with American Airlines and Avis. They even chose a hotel with a reasonable room rate and got a block of rooms reserved at a discount. If you can possibly make it, I urge you to attend and show your support for NALTEA.
There are three board positions up for election this year and they need people to run. Serving on the board is a very rewarding experience. Plus, the certification test will be offered!
