1.  How you know you're an "old person":  When instead of asking the questions in the Land Records, you are answering them.  "That used to be the dirt road to Joe's farm.  When they build some new houses out there the owners didn't like the road name, so they just started changing it.  The Post Office didn't care and everyone knew where they lived, try searching under ...."

2.  Permanent thin marker for changing notes on the filed surveyor's mylar "to correct it."

3.  Can't do this one anymore:  Pencil to erase and change the tax information assessor's field card.

No, these did not come from NOT abstractors, surveyors or lawyers.
