This will not have any effect on abstractors.  Title agents may have some difficulty getting payoffs figures for state-held liens, but that would be about it I imagine.

Our state senate passed a budget that did not require a tax increase by 49-1 a few weeks ago.  Our governor is playing games with this furlough because no one (including members of his own party) wants to put in all of the unnecessary "progressive" items and accompanying tax increase that he is insisting are vital to our future.

He is getting near the end of his last term and he wants to create a legacy for himself with everyone else's money.  The speculation is that this is being done to improve his chances of moving up to national politics.
