Oh yeah....gotta love the grease...cholesterol at its best. The sandwich would not taste as good without it.  I was told that the cheese whiz was a South Philly thing...I myself like melted cheddar, and maybe a little steak sauce on it ....maybe someone out there from Philly can set us right on this....but the sandwich is one of natures true pleasures... glad to hear from a fellow Philly sub afficionado.
