With so many companies now doing their titles from of their offices (using online registry databases, I also just became aware of a company doing titles from an office in India - no joke) often a "current owner" request is anything but.  The company will attempt to do the title online, when it turns out to be too complicated they'll send the order to an actual examiner as a "current owner" search.  I often get "current owner" searches that upon further investigation turn out to be full 50 year examinations.  When this happens I inform the client that they'll have to pay my full title fee.
