yes, they need two searches done here locally and SUDDENLY when I faxed back "refused", I get a call from David who says my check is on the way.  It was the same old excuses:  some of our clients aren't paying, we are doing alot of foreclosures that are taking too long to be closed, etc.  My response was:  how interesting, I have a client, their name is Ameristar that is not paying.  Now, I own my company and I made an executive decision to refuse further work from this company called Ameristar.  If this non-paying client Ameristar decides not to refuse work from THEIR client that isn't paying, that isn't the concern of LCTE.  Then came the excuse about foreclosures.  I replied:  that doesn't wash.  Had someone in your company called me--PRIOR--to sending the search request and advised that the search being sent was a foreclosure and there as a chance that payment wouldn't be made for 90 days.  THEN I get to decide for myself if I want to accept the work.  But, Mr. Ameristar, that is not what happened.  You decided FOR ME what terms my company would accept and the last I checked, you weren't a member of my LLC.  Additionally, if a financial comparison is made, which company is better able to withstand a cash flow problem:  a multi-million dollar company or a 2 man show?  There isn't anyone to lay off here and I doubt $1500 is going to cause your corporate headquarters to go into foreclosure, but it sure would here.  Now, when might I receive my check?
