That's the difference between us, Mr. Ahern. I always try to see the best in a difficult situation. At least he got a trial and wasn't convicted in Texas or some other state where they actually enforce the death penalty. I'd be thankful for that.
What I don't understand is why the state should compensate anyone for "false imprisonment" when he was duly convicted by a jury of his peers according to the same system of jurisprudence which you hold in such high esteem.
Maybe it's because I'm not quite as smart or enlightened as some people.
