That may be very reasonable general advice, to shun new companies started by employees from a company that went under without paying their debts.
However, in this specific case, the principal of the new company has been, as far as our dealings with him were concerned, a man of his word in terms of doing everything he could to secure payment for the work we did on behalf of the company for which he worked. Now that he has gone out on his own, we intend to give him every chance to make a go of it, trusting that he is a better businessman than the folks who ran the bankrupt company. We sincerely wish him well in his new endeavor, and really really hope he has learned from their mistakes.
