Where to begin?? First of all, I can provide numerous references as to my turn times. DRI saying my work was always late just doesnt cut it. It is interesting that if I was so bad, why did they keep sending me work? Yes, they didnt send me that much, but that is because the few counties I did for them are small, rural counties. Of course they wont be sending me anymore work-- because I told them I wouldnt do anymore of their work. They NEVER contacted me by phone regarding payment issues. I had to initiate every contact. Their only contact with me regarding payment issues were replies to my requests. As far as my turn times-- my stated turn times are 24-48 hours. If there were ever to be any delays, I would notify them. The vast majority of my work for them was in within my stated turn times. I believe there were a couple of times that I had to refax something the next day because they called to say they didnt get it, but the search was originally sent in on time. As far as them contacting me-- here is DRI's procedure-- they send an order confirmation with every order. I would send it back with an ETA. They would still call numerous times before the ETA and before it was due. If I have confirmed receipt of an order and give an ETA, I do not usually return status calls before 24 hours simply because it takes time away from doing my work. Usually I would receive orders from DRI in the late afternoon so I cant do them until the next day. The next day I am out of the office most of the day doing the work. As I stated, the counties I did for DRI involve drive time. I would get back to the office that afternoon and fax in the completed search. Most work I did for DRI was back around 24 hours. As I said, I have many clients that can attest to my turn times. I would like to know just how cooperative I am supposed to be about not being paid? When I am told payment, which is already past due, is on the way and never arrives. When I am told payment was sent one day and it isnt postmarked until 4 days later. I was more than cooperative-- up to a point. One order was already 49 days old before I even made a second request to get paid on 12-6. I then made a 3rd attempt on 12-11 after getting no response. Again I got no response. I left a phone mesage on 12-12. Finally on 12-13, I recieved an email stating payment would be made that day. Five days later I still hadnt gotten a check, even though I am local and the mail only takes 1 day. I left another message stating I had not recieved payment. I did not recieve a reply and so the next day I had to state I would not do any more work for them. That day they finally mailed the check out. Please let me know how much more cooperative I need to be.
