After receiving two calls this morning threatening lawsuit from Robert Ortman of DRI, I have decided to post a clarification here as to some things I said in my prior post. I said that there were employees at DRI that were trying to sabotage American Title's business. I did not say or mean to imply that it was management, or that there was any company policy or conspiracy to do this. I do know that there were individual non-management employees that would try to get American Title employees to come over to DRI. I know this because I was one of them that was told I should come apply. And most of the American Title employees that I know of that did apply were hired. I have no way of knowing if management was encouraging this and I am not trying to imply they were. I never said that it was management or that there was any company policy. I have no way of knowing this. I know that there was a lot of bad blood between DRI and American Title after a couple of senior management people left American Title for DRI. In DRI's defense, I believe some of this was brought on by American Title. American Title used to have a policy that if you left to go work at DRI, you could never be hired back if it didnt work out. Thankfully, I have heard they have backed off of that, which is good for the general employee so that they can have more options to see where they can get the best fit. I also would like to say that by no means is DRI the worst paying company I have done work for. There are quite a few companies I have run across that are worse. But the things I stated in my earlier post are all true about the trouble I had collecting for these invoices. I have the emails and the postmarked envelope to prove it. Maybe mine was an isolated instance. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. The fact remains that people were not truthful to me about my payment issue. For this reason, I came public in this forum simply to let others know what I had gone through. I do find it interesting that I can recieve calls threatening lawsuits, but I cant seem to get one apologizing for the trouble I had to go through to get paid.
To Robert Ortman:
I have been in contact with Source Of Title. I cannot delete or even edit my prior post. I have posted this clarification to let you know that I never stated and am not implying that you or any management at DRI were trying to sabotage American Title. As you know, you have had a lot of former American Title employees come work for you. Many of them were recruited by DRI employees. It is to your credit that you gave them an opportunity to stay in the same industry and see if they would be happier working for you. You stated that there are several blatant lies in my post. There are not. I have corrected the only item that someone could misunderstand. If you are still intent on suing me for what I said about my payment issues, I have the documentation to back it up. Please do not call me leaving me threatening messages anymore. Any communication you have for me can be delivered through the mail.
