Thank God first, that I no longer have to blow up the phones and email to find work, a long way from where I started. That said, I would also like to say that even way back then when times were lean and copy money short and the pre-paid cell phone almost out of minutes, I NEVER TRIED TO STEAL SOMEBODY ELSE' CLIENT. In the one County I only work in now, everyone there is like a big extended part of each other's family. We watch out for each other, like faxes not going thru or Clients faxing the request to the record vault, and even pitch in when one is in a pinch. BUT, as everywhere, we have the occasional rouge. One of our local Abstractor' was in a very bad car wreck recently, and we came oh so close to losing him. His blood had to be constantly replaced and he ended up losing his foot. It was devestating to us all, and tears were shed. We all came together to do what we could do, blood drive, donations you name it. Now this man was one of the most humble kind hearted man I know. he would go out of his way to help you, and is the type person you are always glad to see. he has a brother and nephew that also work there and are doing everything they can to help keep his client workload going, we all do. Now to the LOW DOWN DIRTY SHAME PART. He has a client (my injured friend) that will fax over document retrieval request to the fax in the record vault. there was a guy there the other day while I was at the fax machine and he ws lookng at the doc request, that I was actually faxing back to the client for my friend. He took his cell phone and dialed the number from the order form and walked away. I followed, I overheard his conversation whereas he was telling them my friend was no longer doing title work and he would like the business. Now KEVIN, you are gonna be proud of me here. I just stood there staring him down as he talked, nervously. After his conversation I told him what a LOW DOWN thing to do. He was so humiliated he left the courthouse. What compels a person like this? I wonder now if he has went in the box and contacted any of my friends other clients. I would like to hear your thoughts.
