I tend to agree with you, F. Lee, although it shouldn't be necessary to hire separate counsel, IMO.  Situations like this are precisely what E & O insurance is for.  The first call I made would have been to my E & O insurer.  I'd make them earn every penny of those confiscatory premiums they've been charging me and find me an attorney to fight this.  Client would think twice when they realized I'm not backing down.

But, that's just me.
