This illustrates what I think is a problem with the "hot and cold"  lists: one of the companies you name here, Express Financial, is a long-time client of ours. At the beginning of our relationship, I spoke with an accounts-payable person there who told me that their standard pay schedule was 90 days. Once I heard that, it was up to me to decide whether I wanted to work for a company that paid regularly, but on a 90-day schedule. I decided yes. Although I haven't had work from them in a long time, and things may have changed (for all I know, they've gone out of business), they never shorted us, never were late by their standards, and were always cordial and helpful.
