Please pray for the family of Mayor Bob O'Connor (D-Pittsburgh), who passed away at 8:55 PM last evening after a months-long battle with a rare form of brain cancer.

Mayor O'Connor was a true Pittsburgher in every sense of the word.  A former steelworker who went on to manage and own several successful businesses, he never forgot his working-class roots in his career as a public servant.  His friendly demeanor and "hands-on" management style made him ideally suited to the task of serving the city he loved.

Mayor O'Connor is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Levine O'Connor and three children.
