Tried it here in Connecticut. A lot of it depends on the amount involved. The Prosecutor exercises prosecutorial discretion. If the amount involved is less than a $1,000 it is like pulling teeth to get them to move on it. They tell you "It is really a civil rather than a criminal matter" In other words they have bigger fish to fry. However, give it a shot. Maybe the prosecutors in your area take a different approach.
