Claude Willis Arnold, a long-time resident of Fairhope, Alabama died May 5, 2006, at his home. He was 88.
A World War II veteran, Arnold served in the U.S. Navy as quartermaster on PT Boat No. 105 and saw action in the English Channel, as well as in Normandy, France.
Upon returning to the U.S., he launched his surveying career in Fairhope, forming Fairhope Title and Survey Company, which he led for more than 50 years. As a professional land surveyor, registered in both Alabama and Florida, he also served as president of the Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
Survivors include seven sons, five daughters, three sisters, one brother, 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
