George,
Did any of these software companies claim to be able to redact handwritten sensitive information or even find it? Do their warranties accept legal responsibility for redacting ALL SS#s, dates of birth, signatures, notary seals, mother's maiden names, or all medical references? Most fraud doesn't even require a SS#. Are they able to locate the locations of oil and gas pipelines, chemical plants, or the identities of defense plant workers before making them accessible to terrorists?
Can they find the thousands of copies of unredacted information that already resides on servers all over the world, or redact anything from them if they were able to find them?
The software companies often make this claim but I have found no instance where they warrant them.
