With me it is a matter of pride. I will not allow a delinquent client to walk on me. In so far as the economics are concerned, I will take the hit on the filing fees because I can recover the expenses in another area of practice.
Nothing infuriates me more than a client that fails to make payment in a timely manner, and then plays dumb when you try to resolve the issue in pre-trial negotiation.
