Hey Ellen,

it is not you.  We have run into some of the same things.  Makes me nervous when a search comes back free and clear, especially if they bought the property 2 to 3 years ago with a $250k mortgage and it is now released with no refi-mortgage.  Not that many people win the lottery.  We will search it again to be sure and will put a note on the search that we suspect an unrecorded mortgage or a severely mis-indexed mortgage.  We have had it happen on both the plant and the courthouse., where we cross check our searches.
