Afternoon Kimberly,
Thank you for your email inquiry about getting signed up as an abstractor. I sent you a reply (pasted below) but I've not heard back from you so figured I'd try here. I'd like to get some answers and potentially move forward with signing up to work with you. Please advise. Thank you.
Been doing a little due diligence and seems as if there are several folks out there reporting that they either haven't got paid or got paid but much later than promised. This is a big red flag for me but I don't like to pass up a potential opportunity for additional search work without at least asking some questions of my own. So here goes...
-Based on your website it appears that you have an office down here in Wilmington. Who is staffed at that office (an atty, paralegal, and if so who are they, I may know them or might like to meet with them)?
-What are your payment terms? I bill at net 30 meaning that payment is due within 30 days of the completed search being delivered to you.
-Do you have any current NC abstractors that would be willing to provide a reference as to your payment history?
-Is Jack Muncey still employed by this firm? His Linkedin profile currently lists him as Director of Operations for Washburn Law.
I think after getting some answers to these questions I may be able to make a more informed decision. Sorry to grill you up front but it's the best way to weed out anyone that may not pay, especially with the negative posts online. Thanks again and have a great afternoon.
