We shouldn't be surprised. The technology companies have been telling us all along their software could do the job more efficiently, accurately and without the help of experience. They have made the claim someone with little understanding of English let alone title searches could easily produce an accurate report with their gee whiz software. Zenodata made the claim their software produced a complete and accurate title report in under seven minutes with no human intervention at all. All that was needed was online access and a mouse to click. Of course Zenodata is bankrupt. Could it be false claims contributed to their fall?

Robert Franco made an excellent correlation to the rise of claims and online access by inexperienced "abstractors". ALTA discredited his research not on it's merit but because it didn't fit their glowing reports of technological advances in title software and online access. Could it be ALTA was misled when they took at their word the press releases of  companies selling the technology?

It seems to me REIdata's claim is nothing more than "No Really. You can believe us this time. Really you can. Pay no attention to what our experienced lawyers say in our disclaimers and contracts. Don't ask your experienced abstractors. What do they know. NO REALLY we have it right this time. Ask an inexperienced abstractor, he will tell you how easy it is"
