I keep thinking of stuff to respond to this post.  I was wondering if you could subcontract to another abstractor during your illnesses so that your turnaround time would be the same - by sending them the order without the client information - someone you could trust almost as much as yourself.  If in dire need I do have an abstractor friend who is also is a certified paralegal who I will subcontract some work - I'm still particular about title searches but doc retrievals and stuff like that if an emergency pops up one day and my client needs it I usually can count on her.  Just a thought - or maybe having a stay at home mom friend with some background in real estate, legal or abstracting that wouldn't mind doing searches during your emergencies for some extra cash flow.  Just some thoughts for you to maybe consider.
