I wanted to make one more little comment to this - I agree with what you did - it would have cost you and you can't let that happen when you don't know if another order will ever come your way.  This company though at least came to you with saying can you do this work for this amount - which at least gave you notice and an option - perhaps you could have met in middle ground - but that is a choice for just you to make.  When I made my comments below it was companies that you worked for diligently for years and then without notice or coming to you - they take on another person and nothing you did - staying up till midnight to process their orders - refinding and refaxing orders they could not find - and still with great attitude and perserverence when they also lost your invoices and were thousands behind in payment and then made an arrangment they did not keep in the end.  I truly believe in karma and what comes around goes around and some day they will receive just what they reaped.  I also believe that if this is how a company operates they will not change.  It is based fully on profit and lack of integrity - and for awhile they may flourish but with no kind of commitment to us they will eventually be known for it and it will come back on them.
