Since everyone is recommending PaperPort - I have an even better idea.  There is a Brother MFC-P2000 series laser printer, scanner and copier (with reduction and enlargement capabilities and photo) that I found at OfficeMax a couple of years ago.  I believe it was 300.00 and it comes with the Paperport software as part of the package.  Looks like you could get all this for almost the same cost as the software separately.  I have been extremely happy with this machine.
