hey jude, i think you may not even need to deal with race notice. i believe, but am not positive, by any means, you guys out west do not use the old australian system of land registration, called the torrens system. couple of fairly easy read books, my favorite type? i would recommend are "principles of real estate law" by paul g. creteau. and "introduction to real estate law" ,charles s. coit. also to me, blacks law dictionary,is one of my r.e. bibles. cant find it right now, but i'll get more info for you.these books are great references, to me anyway. hope this helps, monica
