That is a very creative approach to the problem.
The biggest problem seems to be with searchers
cutting each other throats with lower prices rather than
working to improve the industry as a whole. Perhaps
creating a list of the low ball priced searchers
would be worth while, and then proceeding exactly as
your friend did may be an answer.
