I'm new to SOT (and this forum), Jan, but it all depends on what they're calling a "title search". Do they mean a "Current Owner" or "Property Report", or are they referring to a full-blown 60-Year Title History? I've run into confusion with these terms, as well as with what is considered an "Update" or "Bringdown". What we decided to do early on was to provide potential clients with a list of definitions for our various services in our standard engagement package. That way, there's no confusion as to what they're getting when they decide to order from us. $40 for a Current Owner and $25 for a Bringdown & Recording seems right in line for our area (SW Penna).
