Keep copies of the thing you think you may need again. I keep complete copies of all the full searches that I send by fax. If I do a particularly difficult run I will also keep a copy of that indexed by the person's name. I also try to cross reference condos and subdivisions. It does add up, so imagining may be the way to go. I've been doing this freelance for 2 1/2 years and havn't felt the need for an alternative to paper yet.

As far as keeping copies of present owner searches and such, I throw them away once I've been paid making the assumption that if they paid me they have reviewed it and are all set.
