I read Robert's thread about pricing where he states that new VMC companies possibly are taking work from established VMC companies that you may already be working for and sending you work asking for lower prices than you were previously getting from the established VMC. A vicious circle. I have noticed all along when I get a large amount of work from one vendor then another one seems to give me less work. I view the VMC as a rainmaker. Necessary but not well liked.
So when one VMC starts losing its business to another VMC it is a shame that the abstractor is kept in the dark about their end of the industry. When a new VMC company pops up you usually see their name on this message board by someone asking if others have worked for them before. But, I mean wouldn't it be great if the new VMCabc called you and said I am getting VMCxyz's accounts and would you be interested in working for VMCabc now? When I get new VMC companies calling me, I am just as leary as everyone else as to where their work is coming from or which VMC's work they are taking. When you work for local attorneys you can usually see this arena of competition among them and see how it is playing out. JUST MY $.02 worth....
