A common, often repeated myth among proponents of online records is that,” Nobody has ever documented a single case of identity theft using the online records." Usually, the “expert” will end the statement with a disclaimer that says, “that I’m aware of.”
The only truth to this statement may be that these so-called experts are unaware. I've had enough of this obvious attempt to keep the public unaware.
I have written an article that documents how identity thieves use County Websites. The list isn't conclusive. I really didn't have time to gather all the cases but I have included documented cases in seven states. I will probably do separate articles that will cover cases involving stalkers and terrorists using government Websites.
Warning to proponents of online records. If you want to remain an unaware expert and keep your disclaimer intact, DON'T READ THIS ARTICLE.
