Well...that sounds like the opinion of someone with little or no knowledge of the subject. Most large class action suits are taken on a contingency fee. In Connecticut contingency fees are limited and regulated by statute. Furthermore, the court supervises the case every step of the way. All settlement offers have to be approved by the court to assure that they are fair to all members of the class.
In those instances in which the cases are taken on a flat rate or hourly rate, and in which recovery of attorney's fees are sought...the court awards a reasonable fee, and reserves the right to reduce fees
