You bring up a very good point, but I would like to add something. I had a former client who I did a search for where the grantee was deceased. When it came time to do the update and I was aware there was a foreclosure and I could not find it. Finally the client came back with the case number for me, but they were extremely unhappy and felt I had done something wrong not to find it. When I looked up the case number, it was indexed under "Unknown heirs of . . ." So if I would have looked under Unknown, I would have found it but otherwise without the case number it did not seem to exist. When I pointed this out to the clerk, they refused to cross-index it with the grantees name since that is the way the case was filed. Unfortunately due to that situation, I lost the client even after explaining to them what had happened. That situation still irks me to this day, but what could I have possibly done differently? Just my two cents worth . . .
