I have seen that too and it is appauling! What good is an indexing system that indexes people under "unknown?" "The unknown heirs of John Doe" should, in my opinion, be indexed as "John Doe, the unknown heirs of." John Doe is the only name in the phrase! How about a little common sense; is that too much to expect?
