I bristle at the notion that, as a consumer, I need to be "protected" from myself. This country does have more than its share of idiots, but the basic guiding principle behind our system of government is (or shoud be) that every citizen has a right to his/her own stupidity.
Government regulation, while sometimes necessary, should be used sparingly and only as a last resort. The fact that such a thing is even being considered in Vermont just goes to show, in my opinion, that lawyers and legislators have way too much time on their hands.
