No one is running you down or picking a fight. These are simple inquiries that are made in connection with an extension of credit. There are a number of people that have indicated that they were not paid for the work they did for your former employer. There are a number of negative ratings showing against them in the SOT directory as a result.
The "Plan" that you are proposing does not sound very much different than the one on which they lost money. As a one engaged in the business of this industry you should be able to understand their concerns. In effect you are asking for the use of their money for 60 days after they complete work for you. Over a 60 day period it is conceivable that an abstractor could extend several thousand dollars of credit for the work he/she has performed. I have seen one abstractor posting on this board complaining of several clients with whom he has collection problems...each one for more than a $1,000.00.
Is there a plan in place to pay them or secure them in the event that you have difficulty with your receivables? It should not be a difficult matter to address.
