I have to admit some bias here, as Wayne happens to be a personal friend of mine. He and I have had a business relationship going back a few years. I know him to be a stand-up guy who has never lied to me, and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for that very reason. Many others here have said the same thing, so I think that should be considered as well. Take it for what it's worth.
If what you say is true, (and I do agree with you on many of the issues you raised) then maybe it is we abstractors who should be rethinking how we run our businesses vis-a-vis our credit and payment policies.
Companies will only take advantage of you if you let them. Now more than ever, we need to be more selective about the companies from whom we will accept work. Your policy of "fewer and better clients" makes a lot of sense in the current business climate.
