I agree that the amount is irrelevant. However, this doesn't seem to be a habitual problem with this company - at least as far as I can tell from what I have read here. Most of the people commenting don't seem to have any personal experience with APL. This very well could have been an oversight. Mistakes happen. I can't believe that anyone would intentionally jeopardize their reputation over $86. Even Susan said that she had worked with APL before and everything was fine.
I know we are all pretty suspicious when we don't receive payment, and rightly so. But, that doesn't mean that every time a payment is missed someone is trying to rip off an abstractor. We shouldn't be so quick to judge. Heck, I've misplaced the occassional bill and didn't notice 'til I received a late notice.
It sounds as though this situation has been resolved. All's well that ends well.
