No...actually I had a more reasonable concept in mind. Since the abstractors seem incapable of mounting a united effort to improve their situation, and please do not try to tell me that NALTEA is filling the void...it makes sense for them to look into related fields with a higher return: closings....appraisals...home inspections...applying for title insurance agent's licenses. In most states these lines of endeavor are protected by state licensing and/or require the individual to be personally present to perform the service. The chances of outsourcing are reduced, and their negotiating power is greater.

In so far as abstracting is concerned the VM's have made it very unattractive financially...give it to the Indians. Let the VM's sink or swim with their decisions.

By way of contrast...got to say that the signing agents are a much feistier group than the abstractors. They usually do not roll over to accommodate VM's, and have few compunctions about employing the legal process to secure payment from slow pay/no pay clients.
