I have recently helped a woman from Illinois track down family history and old family property in Rowan County, NC. I have never done this work before outside of my own family and I mainly did it as a favor to the Register of Deeds here as she referred this woman to me...want to keep the folks in charge happy and I am new in this county...so my question is how much to charge her? I was thinking more on the lines of $20.00/hour plus copy charges, but not sure. I want to be fair to me and her for my time spent...I worked on it off and on for about 12 hours total to find out all her questions. Thanks for any imput.
