Wow, another story that makes me lose a little more faith in humanity.  It just seems that every day more and more people just think they can go through life only worrying about what benefits them, without any care to live up to their obligations and how that affects others.  They dont care whether you are able to eat and pay your bills.  They only care that you are there to help them when they need it. 

Robert, I hope you dont let this jacka$$  get away with this.  At least call him back and give him a piece of your mind, like he did to your secretary.  How dare he do that!!!  All you are trying to do is GET PAID FOR THE WORK YOU DID!!  You are not the one at fault.  If you dont call him out on this and at least make it difficult on him, he will learn he can get away with this.  Next time it wont be only $84, it will probably be $840.  Personally, I dont believe in the whole "only $84" thing.  If it was me, that $84 would cover my gas and water bill, or my phone and internet bill, etc.  That just means that money has to come from somewhere else.  You can be damn sure that if I dont pay my gas bill on time and they send out another bill, it will say PAST DUE on it.  Maybe that is what I should do, and then call them up and yell at them and say I am not going to pay it.  How well do you think that would work?  But we dont really have much recourse on these small bills like that.  Our only options are usually more trouble than its worth.  Yet these low-lifes just move on to the next person on their list.

I am pretty much fed up with this whole industry right now.  Even if business does start to pick up, there is still a downward trend that I dont expect to get any better.  The outsourcing to India will still continue and grow.  The business practices of some of these people will continue.  Once these companies realize they can get away with slow-pay, no-pay, etc.; they will continue to do it.  I had hoped this downturn would get rid of the bad eggs out there, but it doesnt seem to be the case.  It seems like not only are they still out there, but some of the good eggs have turned bad.  I guess its a lot easier to turn a profit when you dont pay your bills on time, if at all, and are able to get away with it.
