Nicole, I can't give you specifics about Ocean Isle, it's not in my area, but the market along the coastline here (Charleston and south) is still rocking.
The only real change we have seen is the length of time on the market. That has stretched but not nearly as far as other areas of the county. And, to be frank, most of that is in the middle income property arena and not second homes, beachfront, condos etc but in the single-family subdivisions.
If it were me, I'd still buy as long as the price isn't inflated and you get good terms on your financing. I'd also only do it if I planned to keep it a least three to five years. As long as you keep it long enough, you'll always be to the good along the coast.
