I am seriously considering taking the Certification Exam at the NALTEA Conference in January. I do however have a couple of questions.
When NALTEA originally began considering development of a certification "test" years ago, there was concern as to how this test would be devised so as to reflect the vast differences in real estate laws from state to state. I am curious to know how that issue was resolved and what the content of the Exam will be?
Was the test made up by NALTEA or was an outside testing firm utilized? What type of test is it? Multiple Choice? Written? Essay?
If abstractors pay to take the exam and do not pass, what will be the "re-take" policy? Will they simply be out the $125 and have to wait until the next conference to try again or will there be an on-line or other make-up exam?
I am very happy that NALTEA is finally ready to offer this exam to its members. I am hopeful that this will be another step in uniting and legitimizing the abstracting profession.
